Press Release: New Professional Development Squad (U23s) Pathway

$

Bromley Football Club U23s Professional Development Squad will be launching a new innovative professional football studies pathway.

Through the educational partnership with LSEC (Bromley Campus) we are looking to recruit and sign players between 19-23. Bromley Football Club want to create real opportunities for aspiring full-time footballers. Helping players who wish to progress in the industry, gain a top-class education and want to pursue a route into coaching.

As part of the professional football studies course, the players will be part of the U23s squad, who play in both the competitive Suburban League and play regular fixtures against respective EFL and PL teams.

Players will have the opportunity to train everyday and play competitive football supported by UEFA qualified coaches. Whilst also studying for an HNC/HND and potentially moving onto a BA degree.

The brand new course is the first of its kind and will provide a rounded footballing education, covering topics such as performance analysis, sport psychology, coaching, physiotherapy, nutrition and club management. All of which will be studied in a professional environment between the Club and the College.

The course will combine theoretical study with professional training sessions, also providing the opportunity for the team to train and play at Bromley FC’s stadium, home of the Professional Development squad (U23s).

The course has 3 main aims:

1. The coaching and developing sport course will give each player the underpinning knowledge and practical coaching skills needed to pursue a career in a sports related field or to progress to Higher Education.

2. Develop a player pathway/certification for football coaches, leading to possible employment with Bromley Football Club.

3. To gain a full time professional contract with Bromley Football Club 1st team squad.

Mark Hammond, Bromley FC’s Assistant Manager, who also heads the Academy, is eager to provide a springboard for talented young players to join the 1st team squad and also develop their careers both on and off the field.

Mark is delighted with the quality of the players coming through and has highlighted;

“The new programme has been massively oversubscribed in just its first couple of months and we are on-course to exceed all the expectations we had prior to its launch. I want others to experience what I have had and go on to bigger and better things. Football is a beautiful game and there are lots of beautiful opportunities to be taken.”

Everyone at the Football Club looks forward to your application, with the application process available by clicking HERE.
